Recap Mayor and Commissioner’s Work Session 6/18/2026 

  • Board of Appeals Nominee-Robert Taylor- will be voted on at the 7/7 town meeting.  No other applicants 
  • Planning Commission Nominee-Stacey Clark- will be voted on at the 7/7 town meeting.  No other applicants 
  • 250 Year Celebration and Liberty Tree Event Discussion/Information- September 26, 2026, 11:00 to 4:00- This will dedicate the liberty tree, the train bridge date stone and town memorial bricks.  see rendering and events document below 
  • Employee Defined Benefit Retirement Plan- continue to discuss details of implementing plan 
  • Elected Officials Compensation Discussion- will move forward with providing compensation which will begin in 2029 and require multiple meetings and a public hearing 
  • FY2027 Circuit Rider Grant Program- to be voted on at 7/7 town meeting; The town has been participating for several years; we receive a Circuit Rider for 10 hours a week which cost the town $4,240 a year.   
  • Mason's Law HB 34/SB 189 informational discussion This is an unfunded state mandate to update the safety of open drainage (both public and private) 
  • Discussion Edit Chapter 82 Water and Sewer of the Town Code- discussion regarding update to code; to be voted on at the 7/7 town meeting 
  • Community Park Fishing Pier Repair Update - working with insurance and contractor
