Chief Robert Nitz

Chief Nitz is life-long resident of Cecil County, graduating from Rising Sun High School and later earning his Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Public Safety Administration from the University of Maryland University College.  Following his retirement from the Maryland State Police, Chief Nitz became employed with the Perryville Police Department in 2011 and has held every position within the ranks of the department including patrol, investigator, first-line supervisor and Deputy Chief.  It is his belief that community policing is paramount to establishing and maintaining the public trust and confidence."
