For residential customers who are located within 150 feet of the BGE gas main; those customers can connect to the gas system for free, however:

The customer must pay for the internal piping to run the gas in their home, along with any associated fees
The customer must commit to installing a gas appliance within 1 year of receiving service

Residents may contact BGE at 1-800-233-1854 for more information. When inquiring about a new gas service, you should expect a reply within 5 - 7 business days after calling BGE.
