About Denise Breder

A Maryland native, Denise was born in Baltimore, raised in Harford County, and graduated from Havre de Grace Senior High School. She has two children. Prior to working for the Town of Perryville, Denise had eleven (11) years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting, with her most recent position being that of Accountant for Techalloy Company, Inc. in Baltimore, MD. In August of 1998 she took the position of Financial Coordinator for the Town of Perryville. She graduated from Towson University in December of 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance. In 2002 Denise was promoted to Finance Director for Perryville and later served in the dual role of Finance Director and Assistant Town Administrator before taking the position of Acting Town Administrator in June of 2005. Through a competitive process, she received the appointment as Town Administrator in December of 2005.

As Town Administrator, Denise’s primary task is to implement the goals, policies and procedures of the Town of Perryville. She reports directly to the Mayor and Commissioners and is responsible for supervising the department heads for Administration, Engineering, Finance, Planning & Zoning, Police, Public Works, Water and Wastewater. Denise is a member of the International City / County Management Association (ICMA), the Maryland City County Manager’s Association (MCCMA) and a 2009 graduate of the University of Maryland Institute for Governmental Service and Research – Academy of Excellence in Local Governance, Municipal Track.
