Perryville, Maryland Town Information
Animal Control
Services are provided through the SPCA. 410-398-9555 Residents with pets must register the dog yearly and may not let the animal roam at large in Perryville. Licenses may be purchased at the Town Office.
Trash and Recycle Pick-Up
Regular trash pick-up is on Mondays.
Recyclables will be collected on every THURSDAY (Yard Waste will be picked up as seen on the Schedule Below).
There has been a misconception among some Town residents that since all recyclables were put into the same truck by the TriState crew that the Town was not recycling. However, even though the Cecil County Landfill only recently went with single-stream recycling, the Town's contractor, TriState Waste, has been taking our recyclables to a facility that does single stream recycling and will continue to do so. The Town of Perryville will now be picking up Yard Waste. The following Holidays will cause the pick up to be a day behind on anything after the holiday for Tri-State Waste. The holidays included are New Years Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

Tourism
The town on the shores of the Susquehanna River played a role in two of our Country's early wars. The ferry and Rodger's Tavern were frequented by troops and travelers heading north and south during the Revolutionary War. During the Civil War, the area became an important staging area and camp for Union soldiers and supplies. (see the Civil War section for more information) George Washington was only one of the famous people who visited the town, which after two name changes became incorporated as Perryville in 1882. Highlights of the area today include Principio Furnace, Perry Point Veteran's Hospital, Rodger's Tavern, the Perryville Train Station, Prime Outlets - Perryville, and a beautiful waterfront park. 410-642-6066 The Cecil County tourism website has information on lodging, restaurants, recreation, attractions and more, for visitors to Cecil County.
